Eunjung Hwang

Eunjung Hwang (she / her) has been creating texts, photographs, videos, displays and artist books, as well as installations. Her practice concerns the relationship between personal (micro) and environmental/social (macro) narrative. She question the role of representation and image-making processes through reframing and reconstruction. Through various mediums, her work often explores the ways contextual forms can mediate everyday life and historical time. Who define the political instruments and power structures? How can the historical and the personal intertwining be liberated? Recent projects include ‘(Re:) Collect (Re:) Connect’ at IDEAL art space, Leipzig (2021), ‘DLL(Deutsches Literaturinstitut Leipzig)+HGB(Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst Leipzig)_ Call and Response’ at Moritzbastei, Leipzig (2022), ‘Where have all the kids gone? (Research Project)’ about N.Korean Contract Workers in DDR initiated by AKV e.V funded by FoDaKu, Leipzig (2021), ‘Untitled’ Reading Performance for Haymat Ost (Konferenz für Migration und migrantische Kämpfe des Ostens) at Theater der Jungen Welt, Leipzig (2022), and ‘I think the connection is really bad’ at Plast, Leipzig (2020). The artist is a member of AKV(Anderer Kunstverein e.V.) in Leipzig east.

Marianna Reyna

Reyna is a multidisciplinary artist and project manager. She* has worked in projects in leipzig and berlin (germany), huancayo, arquipa and lima (peru) and sao paulo (brasil).  Currently based between Leipzig and Sao Paulo.

Laura Ahrens

born and raised in Halle (Saale), is rapper, artist, graphic designer and social worker. As a multitalent she plays concerts on the weekends, creates cover artworks, visuals and music videos during the week and shares her deep interest for rap music, songwriting and video production in workshops for kids and teenagers after school and during holidays.

Through numerous live shows and digital releases in the recent years, she was able to gain a legendary reputation in German underground rap, while she is studying Multimedia|VR-Design at Burg Kunsthochschule Halle in the meantime, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in summer 2024. Ahrens is currently living and working in Leipzig and Berlin.

Rattenjunge

is the long term Rap Production Projekt of Tobias Czarnecki. Working with Artists like Don Skinny Choppa, Yung FSK18, NYYA, music produced under this pseudonym has become a known landmark for the leipzig scene.

The Main focus of this production project is working with underground talent and supporting and educating young musicians. Musically the focus lies on flow and pacing, exploring the hypnotic side of contemporary hiphop.

Ferdinand Klüsener

holds a master’s degree in Applied Theater Studies from JLU and studied contemporary art in Lebanon. In 2024 he is finishing his PHD project on the Radiotheory of Schizoanalyse. He published in multiple journals, e.g., the Eastap journal, Medien & Zeit, Rundfunk und Geschichte, the European Avantgarde and Modernism Studies and the Brecht Yearbook. His teaching experience includes seminars and scenic projects at RUB and at MLU Halle-Wittenberg. He is artistic director of Anderer Kunstverein e.V. and did radio plays based on motives from Artaud’s Pour en Finir Avec le Jugement de Dieu, Brecht’s Fatzer. Together with Saeed Albatal he is working a sound composition out of recordings from the airstrike, which happened during the East-Ghouta siege in Syria for SWR. He is the artistic director of Anderer Kunstverein e.V. and a founding member of Turbobahn. He professionally realised over 50 artistic projects in the framework of audiowalk, exhibition, theater, radioart, radio ballet and radioplay.

Saeed Albatal

Co-founder member of  Turbobahn. Roles : directing, writing. Born in 1988 tזartous, Syria. Saeed Al Batal is a highly skilled citizen journalist, photographer, and filmmaker with a passion for using art for social benefit. With a strong background in delivering training, leading workshops, Saeed has made significant contributions to the field in photography and news reporting, and has also worked as a reporter for various radio stations and wrote articles on Syrian current affairs for various agencies and institutions. He is the artistic director & video of Aחderer Kunstverein e.V. since 2021. co-founder of the Sam Lenses online gallery,the Humans of Syria project and Radio djinni His co-directed film, STILL RECORDING, won Valdivia Best Film and Venice Critic’s Week FIPRESCI & Audience awards 2018.

michael mander

808 JEHOVAH, the alias of Michael Mander, defines Leipzig’s music scene with 63 diverse albums spanning gothic rock, ambient, hip-hop, and electronic genres. Beyond his solo achievements, Mander’s commitment to musical education is evident through workshops tailored for ages 6 to 21. As co-founder and board member of Aחderer Kunstverein e.V., he molds Leipzig’s cultural identity, creating a space for artistic expression. Mander’s impact extends to radio plays, earning awards and acclaim for his innovative productions. Collaborative projects and mixtapes like “Playstation 5” showcase his genre-defying creativity. In “PAINKIlLERS,” he weaves compelling narratives, adding depth to his lyrical repertoire. His journey transcends music, embodying cultural enrichment and a dedication to pushing artistic boundaries. Michael Mander, as 808 JEHOVAH, leaves an enduring legacy, shaping Leipzig’s narrative with authenticity, innovation, and a multifaceted artistic approach.
